Where: Lake Lehow | Littleton, CO
Who: Definitely YOU!
Details: Please bring a side such as baked beans, salad, or dessert to share if you wish. Brats, beef hot dogs, buns, potato salad, cole slaw, paper plates/plasticware, chips, soda, and water will be supplied by the chapter. This year, no fried chicken will be supplied to simplify the event, but you are welcome to bring and grill your own additional steaks, chicken, or other protein on the gas grill.
Important Reminders
There is a large covered pavilion, out houses, and a barn with fishing gear for free use, but no potable water available.
No alcoholic beverages are allowed since the private facility is owned by Denver Water, managed by CPW.
No fishing licenses are required at the stocked lake and spinning rods/reels along with bait are also available for use. If using the supplied spinning rods, please do not change the hook set up, because it is standardized for all of the groups using the gear.
Stay on the established areas and trails and not in the surrounding high grass areas due to possible ticks and snakes. This is a wildlife area.
The lake is stocked with trout, and holds bass and bluegill generally, along with unfriendly snapping turtles.
Please review the directions if you have not been there previously. Directions and map will be sent to all who RSVP. The entry is through the Waterton Canyon parking lot.
At the entry to the horse trailer parking lot, re-attach the cable to the post after entry, and the metal gate near the lake needs to remain closed.
Please rewrap the chain around the gate middle so it looks locked but do not lock it, otherwise the public tends to drive in.
Feel free to contact John Semich (303-550-1380) for any questions and to volunteer to help set up for the picnic. Please RSVP here!
