On March 10, 2018 West Denver will combine a fund-raising event with a great day of fishing! Rainbow Falls is a ranch located off Highway 67, about 12-13 miles south of Deckers. It was once the site of Colorado’s first hatchery (circa 1875). The ranch consists of 100 acres of land situated in a beautiful valley. There are 9 lakes on the property, and about 1 ½ miles of stream courses through the valley as well. The lakes and stream are fed by a spring that has a constant temperature of 51 degrees.
A family owns the ranch, and it has converted the property into an exclusive fishing club. The lakes and stream are stocked periodically with browns, rainbows, tiger trout and Donaldson steelheads.
Cost for the day is $200 per person; this includes snacks in the morning, lunch and drinks (non-alcoholic). There are a number of pavilions (with tables) in the valley that will allow you to rest and eat. If you’re interested in attending, note that registrations will be accepted for the first 40 fully paid registrants. To register, please send a check issued to West Denver Trout Unlimited for $200 per angler to Matt Rivera‘s attention at 8189 Webster Street, Arvada, CO 80003. Please include your email address so that your registration can be confirmed and to receive final instructions for the day.
