Volunteers are needed, Saturday, June 2nd! Joseph’s Journey is probably one of the most gratifying events that our Chapter sponsors. No one ever regrets helping out at this outing.
Joseph’s Journey is a make-a-wish type organization that offers a day away from the hospital for children who are critically ill accompanied by their families. Our event is a fishing derby that takes place at lake Lehow, near Chatfield Reservoir and Waterton Canyon. CPW stocks the lake in advance of the derby to ensure the young anglers have a great day. They are provided with a rod and reel. Our job is to help them with whatever they need: casting, setting a hook, landing the fish and releasing it. For that you will need to bring along a nipper, forceps and a net.
We also provide lunch and snack for everyone who shows up. This includes hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, chips, fruit etc etc. We need volunteers to help cook.
