Colorado Parks and Wildlife Funding goes to the full Senate

by: Cy Ball

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Funding Bill Passes out of Committee.  This news from Colorado Trout Unlimited.

On Tuesday night, the Colorado Senate Finance Committee voted unanimously (5-0) to pass the CPW Future Generations Act (SB18-143) onto the full Senate (with a quick stop at the Appropriations Committee).  While this bill has bipartisan support in both chambers, its future in the Finance Committee was unsure at best.  Thanks to TU members who sent emails, made phone calls, wrote letters to their local papers, and met directly with state senators, grassroots momentum helped this critical wildlife funding bill clear a major hurdle at the state capitol.

While we should certainly take a second to appreciate this important vote and recognize the overwhelming level of grassroots activism behind it – our job is not done!

We will need ALL of our chapters to make sure that their state senators know that Coloradans support funding for our parks and wildlife.
