General Meeting Info & Directions:
Our meetings are held at the Jefferson County (Jeffco) Fairgrounds, in Golden, on the first Wednesday of each month. From 6:30 to 7:15, we feature a fly-tying corner, and social time.. From 7:15 to 7:45, we hold a short business meeting. Our program runs from 7:45 to 8:45 and is immediately followed by the drawing of the winners in our monthly bucket raffle. The public is welcome to come to our meeting. We look forward to seeing you there. We do not have a meeting in July. Our August meeting is generally a Potluck Dinner at one of the area parks. Many times our November or our December meeting is a special event.
Directions:
From downtown Denver, take Sixth Ave. way out west to Indiana Street in Golden. From there head south (left) on Indiana, and at the light take your first right. Go around past the Fire Station. Look for the entrance to the Fairgrounds on your left. Once on the fairgrounds property bear to the left so that all the building are on your right side. At the parking lot walk west towards the buildings. Enter the left end of the building through the far doors. This building has a large lighted marque on the wall welcoming everyone to Jeffco fairgrounds. The sign will probably also announce our meeting as well as other events at the fairgrounds.

West Denver Chapter Trout Unlimited
February Speaker---Rob Brozovich
Our guest speaker on February 1 is Rob Brozovich, owner of the Clear Creek Outdoors
Shop in Idaho Springs (see ad in this issue). Rob is a Colorado native---born in Wheat
Ridge and raised in Arvada. He left Colorado for a while to attend the University of Wisconsin
on a baseball scholarship. He’s owned the Clear Creek Outdoors Shop for about 4 years.
In addition to fly fishing, Rob enjoys back backing, snowboarding, and hunting. On the
1st, he’s going to be talking about fly fishing on Colorado’s alpine lakes, at which he’s very
successful. This promises to be an entertaining presentation. Rob is also an excellent photographer,
so I’m guessing his slides on alpine lake fly fishing are going to be spectacular.
Hope to see you there.
Kyle Murphy
Our guest fly tier for February will be Kyle Murphy. Kyle has been our guest fly tier a number
of times, and he has also been a tier for us at our annual Fly Tying Clinic. Kyle has previously
worked at the Trouts Fly Shop, but is now the Operations Manager for the historic
Williams Ranch, which offers hunting and fishing in Park Country. The Ranch has fishing on
a private section of Terryall Creek, and he has offered to give us a little background on their
programs. According to Kyle, the Ranch’s daily rate is $300 for up to six anglers (i.e. about $50
a piece), which seems very reasonable. Kyle is an excellent tier, and you’ll want to get there
early (about 6:30 PM) to watch him tie.
