6:30pm----Our Guest Fly Tier
  Fly Tying Corner Guest---Gerry Bauer
Our guest fly tier for June 2 is Gerry Bauer. Gerry is a rare breed---a native Coloradoan! He’s fly fished for some 45 years, and has been tying for more than 15 years. He’s a dentist and indicates that although he hasn’t had as many fly patterns published as fellow dentist, John Barr, he does have a couple of patterns that have found their way into various publications. He’s looking forward to sharing his knowledge and skills with his fellow fly fishers on the 2nd. He plans on doing a modified breadcrust pattern that has been successful for him over the years, and will probably do another pattern or two that will keep the audience entertained. I’ve met Gerry a number of times. He’s a great guy in addition to being a great tier. Arrive early (about 6:30 PM) to see him in action.
7:00pm--- Guest Speaker:   We have a real treat for you on June 2. Our guest speaker, Brennan Baybeck, will share his experiences fishing the famed chalk streams of Hampshire countryside in England, such as the Test, Itchen and Avon. He will reflect on the rich history of the area and the fishing that makes visiting the chalk streams of England such a unique experience.
Brennan, originally from Northern Michigan, started fly fishing when he moved to Colorado 13 years ago. He has fished all over the United States in both freshwater and saltwater, but prefers fishing for trout. His favorite waters in Colorado are the Arkansas and the Colorado. He has fished the mayfly hatch in the United Kingdom the past three seasons. From the first time he fished the famed mayfly hatched of the Hampshire, he has been hooked on the fishing and history of this incredible fishery.
To pay the bills and feed his fishing habit, Brennan is a Director for the Oracle Corporation, and manages an international computer security group. He is also the President of the Denver Chapter of ISACA, which is a large international association of IT auditors, and risk management and security professionals. Again, the 2nd promises a very unique and interesting evening. Hope to see you there.
  General Meeting Info & Directions:

Our meetings are held at the Jefferson County (Jeffco) Fairgrounds, in Golden, on the first Wednesday of each month. From 6:30 to 7:15, we feature a fly-tying corner, and social time.. From 7:15 to 7:45, we hold a short business meeting. Our program runs from 7:45 to 8:45 and is immediately followed by the drawing of the winners in our monthly bucket raffle. The public is welcome to come to our meeting. We look forward to seeing you there. We do not have a meeting in July. Our August meeting is generally a Potluck Dinner at one of the area parks. Many times our November or our December meeting is a special event.

Directions:
From downtown Denver, take Sixth Ave. way out west to Indiana Street in Golden. From there head south (left) on Indiana, and at the light take your first right. Go around past the Fire Station. Look for the entrance to the Fairgrounds on your left. Once on the fairgrounds property bear to the left so that all the building are on your right side. At the parking lot walk west towards the buildings. Enter the left end of the building through the far doors. This building has a large lighted marque on the wall welcoming everyone to Jeffco fairgrounds. The sign will probably also announce our meeting as well as other events at the fairgrounds.
