River Watch - 2007

We have two locations on Clear Creek that we obtain water samples at. One is across from the camper / travel trailer grounds west of Lions Park in Golden. Currently there is a park bench at the lower sampling site (station CCWDTU-221, GPS coordinates N 39° 45.175", W 105 13.930" - Map Datum =WS-84). It is the first picnic bench next to the trailer park. Thus it is easy to locate.
However, the second sampling site (CCWDTU-222, GPS coordinates N 39° 45.149" W 105° 14.672")does not have such prominant feature for reference. The second sampling site is within sight of the end of the hiking trail at the church ditch diversion shute. The location is at a short break in the trees along the trail. On either side of the break in the trees, next to the trail, are rocks that can be used to help identify the location. Also for idenification, on the far side of the creek high up on the ridge is tree with a broken trunk while at the top isan outcropping of rocks.
