Fantasy Raffle Tying Session - Sweatshop II

WDTU Fantasy Tiers:

Once again, the stalwart tiers of WDTU assembled in a dark, cold, unfinished basement on the evening of January 18 in order to complete the task of tying flies for our annual Fantasy Raffle. The following folks braved the snow and ice to participate in this project: 1) Bob Untener; 2) Curt Barton; 3) Dave Brady; 4) Gary Blubaugh; 5) Gary Frey; 6) Glen Edwards; 7) Jim Arnold; 8) Joe Cunningham; 9) Ken Bednar; 10) Mark Kahve; 11) Gerry Bauer. The group worked diligently through the evening on several patterns intended to fill the fly boxes for the prize winner and to fool the wily trout.....parachute Adams, elk hair caddis, orange Ashers, stimulators, buckskin nymphs, ants ...to name a few. The product of the group's labor resulted in the manufacture of 220 flies! The previous fly tying party had produced 280 entomological wonders. Therefore, we now have 500 handcrafted pieces of fishery art with which to fill the request for twenty dozen flies for the Fantasy Raffle plus have a headstart on next year's project.
Thank you to all of the 'good guys' that responded to the call for help with this activity. It is this sort of shared time, space, and goal that build strong organizations and relationships. Congratulations on a job well done!
Let's remember this strategy for next year's raffle......and/or reconvene such a group to share knowledge and skill for the coming spring/summer fishing season.
