Each year Colorado Trout Unlimited organizes all of the states chapters into selecting one of their home rivers for clean up. Last year the Cutthroat Chapter, Cherry Creek, and Our Chapter did part of Clear Creek. This year we did the same. However, different sections were cleaned up.

The 2005 statewide TU rivers cleanup was held on Saturday, September 24. West Denver TU in collaboration with Cutthroat chapter and Cherry Creek Anglers Chapter cleaned up a couple of different sections of Clear Creek. West Denver Chapter concentrated on cleaning up the "Golden Mile" stretch above the Kayak course in Golden. This section is a stretch that West Denver has started a renovation project in collaboration with the DOW, the City of Golden, Coors Brewery, and other organizations. This project will take several years to complete. The process has just started. We also cooked hamburgers and brauts for everyone. The Hamburgers and Brauts were graciously donated by Golden River Sports in Golden.
